Element K Adds The Interactive Manager™ Libraries by Harvard Business School Publishing
The Interactive Manager libraries by Harvard Business School Publishing feature courses in High Performance Management, Management and Finance. These courses are found in the Business department and are designed for various levels of management. Courses focus on the most relevant business issues facing managers today, such as coaching, teamwork and change management.
Element K Adds the Situational Leadership® Library
The Situational Leadership® library teaches the skills and knowledge needed to understand, predict and influence the behavior of others. The managerial philosophy offered in Situational Leadership® is the most widely accepted in the world; and can empower supervisors to adapt their leadership style to the circumstances and people they're working with, for optimum efficiency.
Internet Professional Series Classes
The Internet Professional Series is a training program made up of career tracks
and learning paths in the areas of Web design, Web development, databases, systems
administration, internetworking, security and E-Business. The Series prepares students
for key Internet job roles that are in high demand across all industries.
The Internet Professional Series is intended for three types of students:
- entry-level students and/or those professionals seeking certification in Internet basics/essentials
- professionals seeking specialized, career skills
- professionals seeking single-vendor-specific training, product skills, and certification

Element K Adds Knowledge Certifications
Element K now includes knowledge certification exams powered by
Brainbench. These exams allow students to earn Brainbench
certifications, test their IT skills and prepare for other
certification exams. Brainbench certifications are recognized
throughout the industry as thorough measurements of IT knowledge.
Element K Adds vLabs Exercises
vLab Exercises are now offered on Element K! This feature provides
students with access to a live, virtual Cisco®
internetworking laboratory where they can gain experience working in
real-time lab environments. Labs may be taken as stand alone
exercises or used in conjunction with our Cisco courses in preparation
for Cisco certification exams. Students enrolled in the Cisco
library are provided with 16 free vLab sessions to be used in
conjunction with the CCNA 2.0: ICND online instructor-led course.
Proprietary Learning Objects
Corporate customers can now take advantage of having their custom content uploaded and hosted on Element K.
Element K will support the upload and hosting of various file formats such as Macromedia Flash, Authorware,
Shockwave, Director, Toolbook, and HTML. Training Administrators will manage the "upload custom content"
process, which will be maintained in a custom library specific to a company and only those contracts enabled.
This feature is expected to be available in October.
Project Management Courses
Element K has added a new Project Management
department to the course catalog. Watch for additional project management
course listings! New courses are being added that map to the Project Management
Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and cover areas of project management applicable to
the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification examination offered
through the Project Management Insitutute (PMI).
Internetworking Department Offered
Element K has added an Internetworking Department
which offers a comprehensive array of courses covering Cisco®, Datacom, TCP/IP
and other Telecommunication topics. The courses within this department range
from network design to network support, and are designed to help students
become more knowledgeable with Telephony technologies as well as to prepare
them for Cisco certifications.
In
addition to the different course modalities, this department also offers
vLab Exercises - access to live Cisco devices for real hands-on
experience. Element K provides students enrolled in the Cisco
library with 16 free labs to use in conjunction with the CCNA 2.0:
ICND online instructor-led course. Additional labs may be purchased individually.
Recommended Courses Enhancement
Training Administrators will be able to pre-populate the "My
Courses" page with "required" and “recommended" classes of
their choice. The "Required" courses will appear in the "My
Current Courses" section and will not be removed until the courses are
completed.The TA will also be able to
add "Recommended" courses to the "My Courses" page.
Workplace Safety Courses
Element K, has
partnered with Vivid Learning Systems, Inc. to offer companies mandatory and
compliance-driven workplace safety training online. This partnership allows for
fully automated, centralized management and tracking of employee participation,
thus offering employees a richer educational experience, allowing employers to
comply with regulations and significantly reducing spending on safety training.
Some courses currently available include: Hazard Communication, Sexual
Harassment, Violence in the Workplace, Driver's Safety, Fire Safety and more.
